Vintage Vera for Valentine's Day!

Valentine’s Day is coming up soon and that means spring is just right around the corner. There is still time to buy that special gal that unique gift a vintage scarf from Razberry Boutique.

We have an extensive collection of Vera Scarves .  There is no need to wait for a 7 day auction to end we have listed the majority of our Vera scarves at Buy It Now with Make Me An Offer. So stop by and make me an offer! We have over 30 scarves ranging from the 1950's to the 1970's.  Oh, I forgot to mention shipping is FREE!

Who says that scarves are just for winter?  Here is a Vera sheer scarf with Vera's version of an American Indian Print that will enhance your spring wardrobe.  This scarf measures 15 X 44.

Below is a mod floral print by Vera.  This one I wanted to keep for my self however, I can't keep them all. This scarf is 100% polyester and can be machined washed.

We also have 3 Vera's that are from the 1950's that are in near mint condition.  We found these in an antique store in the Monterey California area.

Here is a 1950's Vera hand painted wagon & tulips silk scarf - this was hiding in a scarf drawer for years.   The label is still on the scarf it reads "Scarves by Vera - PAT Pending - Pure Silk Hand Rolled. It has a different feel than most silks - could this be made of parachute silk? Signature is white and is hard to see there is no copyright after Vera's signature.
Below is a vintage Vera from 1958 a black & white silk scarf made USA.   This scarf also has a label Scarves by Vera - Pure Silk Designed & Hand Screened in the USA  and once again there is no copyright after Vera's signature.

The last scarf we have in our store from the 1950's is this green & white polka dot silk scarf.  We think this signature dates back to 1959.  For more information on Vera's signatures and how to date her scarves you can go to the Vera Company Blog to  help you with dating Vera scarves.

Early in March we are going to have a Vera Blast as I call it.  We have been traveling around the West Coast in search of vintage Vera's.  We have over 100 in or inventory that we will list in our store in March.  We have not set the date yet.  We will keep you posted.

Razberry Boutique Vintage Vera Scarves - Vera Neumann

This weekend we are featuring the designer simply known as “Vera”

Vera Neumann, (1907-1993) is known world wide as “Vera”. She loved nature, people and travel and this is reflected in her art. She used vivid, bold, brilliant colors, floral patterns and sometimes the ladybug trademark. Her scarves are highly collectable; her designs are still fashionable today - as they never go out of style. Timeless!!!!
We have traveled from San Diego to San Francisco in search of Vera scarves. We discovered them in Antique Shops, Thrift stores and at Estate Sales. We found some Vera scarves dating from the late 1940’s early 1950’s and some rare and hard to find items.

Vera began her business in 1947. Here are some pictures of her early scarves that we found this summer in California. Vera used the ladybug because it means "Happiness". The scarf below is an example of one of Vera's early works.  You will notice that the Vera signature has no copyright mark.

Here is another example of Vera's early work, hand painted wagons with tulips. This scarf has a unusual feel, it is silk. Could it be made of parachute silk? Her earliest scarves were made of parachute silk as there was an abundance of this silk after WWII.

We also found several floral scarves this summer. Some were made of silk, and a combination of vinyl and silk, and some were printed on sheer silk fabric.

Vera used bright, bold colors and mixed and matched colors along with abstracts and geometrics. Vera had her own interpretation of the world.

Vera also painted geometrics; once again she used bright bold colors. Circles, triangles, blocks and swirls of color.

Vera also painted paisleys however; she had her own version of a paisley print. Paisleys were very popular in the 1960's and 1970's and agian today.

We just put up for auction a scarf from the Gold Piece Collection: Vintage Vera Gold Piece Collections Collector Scarves that we found in perfect condition.  The auction ends on November 2nd.

If you would like more information on Vera and her designs go to The Vera Company web site and blog The Vera Company Blog .

With the holiday’s right around the corner get a jump start on your holiday shopping. Stop by our eBay store Razberry Boutique  and take a look. I am sure that you will find something that you like. We have other designers like Oscar De La Renta, Echo and Anne Klein.

Update your Fall Wardrobe with Vintage Scarves

We were on vacation the first part of October Cruising from San Francisco to Mexico for 11 days taking a much needed break. We are back now and have been busy stocking our store with vintage scarves for this fall and holiday season.

We just started looking through the fall fashion magazines, for example, Bazaar and on page 100 they talk about Bright and Playful patterns are in right now. If you are sticking to a budget this fall or are strapped for cash you still can have the latest look with out the high prices by accessorizing and updating your outfits with vintage scarves.

Scarves are a wonderful accessory can find vintage scarves in all the latest prints for fall at great prices. “Animal motifs, whimsical, tropical and floral prints” are the rage right now. Here are some of the prints that you will find at Razberry Boutique.

Here is a lovely vintage Vera Neumann tropical print. We have over 60 Vera scarves in our store for you to choose from and these are one of a kind. We do not have any duplicates at this time.  We also have some early Vera scarves from the 1950's like the one below of the trees.

We found the colorful checker board scarf last Sunday in San Juan Batista, California in an antique shop. This scarf will brighten up a a fall day with just the right amount of color.

We also found a Schiaparelli  -  About Elsa Schiaparelli- she was an Italian fashion designer who was regarded as one of the most prominent figures in fashion design in the 1920's - 1950's . She also designed clothing for movies during the 1930's through the 1950's. Stars like Greta Garbo, May West wore here designs. Schiaparelli scarves are hard to find - we tracked this one down in an antique store in Central California.

We have over 250 scarves available - stop by and take a look.  If you purchase over $10.00 shipping in the U.S is free.   http://stores.shop.ebay.com/Razberry-Boutique
