Vintage Vera Blue Paisley Scarf
This year the 70’s fashions are back. This was my favorite era – I was a teenager and wore all the crazy and wild clothes. Hip Hugger Jeans, Platform Shoes and Maxi Coats.

This spring the 1970’s fashions are raging hot! All the fashion magazines are showing 70’s fashions with an updated flair. 70s fashion styles were a bit farout and they are today too!

Razberry Boutique Vintage Vera Scarves - Vera Neumann

This weekend we are featuring the designer simply known as “Vera”

Vera Neumann, (1907-1993) is known world wide as “Vera”. She loved nature, people and travel and this is reflected in her art. She used vivid, bold, brilliant colors, floral patterns and sometimes the ladybug trademark. Her scarves are highly collectable; her designs are still fashionable today - as they never go out of style. Timeless!!!!
We have traveled from San Diego to San Francisco in search of Vera scarves. We discovered them in Antique Shops, Thrift stores and at Estate Sales. We found some Vera scarves dating from the late 1940’s early 1950’s and some rare and hard to find items.

Vera began her business in 1947. Here are some pictures of her early scarves that we found this summer in California. Vera used the ladybug because it means "Happiness". The scarf below is an example of one of Vera's early works.  You will notice that the Vera signature has no copyright mark.

Here is another example of Vera's early work, hand painted wagons with tulips. This scarf has a unusual feel, it is silk. Could it be made of parachute silk? Her earliest scarves were made of parachute silk as there was an abundance of this silk after WWII.

We also found several floral scarves this summer. Some were made of silk, and a combination of vinyl and silk, and some were printed on sheer silk fabric.

Vera used bright, bold colors and mixed and matched colors along with abstracts and geometrics. Vera had her own interpretation of the world.

Vera also painted geometrics; once again she used bright bold colors. Circles, triangles, blocks and swirls of color.

Vera also painted paisleys however; she had her own version of a paisley print. Paisleys were very popular in the 1960's and 1970's and agian today.

We just put up for auction a scarf from the Gold Piece Collection: Vintage Vera Gold Piece Collections Collector Scarves that we found in perfect condition.  The auction ends on November 2nd.

If you would like more information on Vera and her designs go to The Vera Company web site and blog The Vera Company Blog .

With the holiday’s right around the corner get a jump start on your holiday shopping. Stop by our eBay store Razberry Boutique  and take a look. I am sure that you will find something that you like. We have other designers like Oscar De La Renta, Echo and Anne Klein.

Plaid is Back for Fall - How About Vintage?

At Razberry Boutique we just received our September issue of “Self” magazine. We noticed that the advertisement for the Dillard’s Department Store was featuring plaid things, such as scarves, handbags and blouses.

We just reviewed our fall collection of scarves and found 16 plaid scarves in our store. We have plaids by Vera Neumann, Pendleton, Albert Nipon, and Echo. We also have some non designer scarves – we can not overlook the non-designers – they don’t have to have a designer signature to be a work of art.

Show off your great style this fall by sporting vintage plaid scarves from Razberry Boutique. We have only one of kind items in our store. Out of the 1000 scarves that we have sold over the past year we have only had a hand full of duplicates.

You will not have to worry about someone else with the same scarf. What are the chances? Very slim.!!!! It guarantees originality - why wear a copy that can be found in every chain store in the country when you can have the original. Today, everyone is on the bandwagon to go green and why not recycle clothing. By buying vintage, it saves valuable resources and energy. When ever we can, we use recycled packaging to ship your items.
New scarves can range from $20.00 to $500.00 depending on the brand. Have you checked out Macy’s, Saks’s or Nordstrom’s lately? Check out our merchandise and you will find that we provide great fashion at reasonable prices. You don’t have to spend a fortune to look like a million bucks.
